About me

Hi, I am Anne, an illustrator from Utrecht, The Netherlands. Currently I am studying an MA Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art and expect to graduate at the beginning of 2021.

Before I joined the MA I worked in museum education and as a policy maker, developing subsidy schemes for arts and heritage projects. Having MA's in Cultural Management and Art History I always had a passion for the arts but never the courage to become a maker myself.

This all changed when I turned 30 and decided to take the plunge to enroll at the Cambridge School of Arts. My main sources of inspiration are modern art, philosophy, early cinema and the future as it was envisioned in the first half of the 20th century.

In my process craftsmanship is very important to me. I love working with analogue techniques like linocut, monoprint and dry needle etching. Though I do appreciate the possibilities digital technologies, and especially Photoshop, offer to bring my ideas to life.
